Wvu mountaineers Former Player Ofri Naveh Makes Official Return with Full Commitment.
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The WVU men’s basketball team received its latest commitment on Wednesday and it’s from a familiar face. Ofri Naveh announced on social media he will remain a part of the program under new head coach Darian DeVries.
- “After careful consideration, I have found that my heart remains in Morgantown, and I am committed to continuing my journey as a Mountaineer,” he wrote
The rising sophomore forward is the first player from last year’s team to publicly announce his return for the upcoming season. Aden Tagaloa-Nelson, a member of the WVU football team, is also listed on the current men’s basketball roster as of May 1.
Naveh, an Israel native, played in 24 games and made seven starts in his debut season. He averaged 13.8 minutes, 2.6 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.
He mentioned “love for the University and Morgantown”, the coaching staff and commitment to his development as the reasons behind his decision, adding they each hold “significant importance” to him

Naveh ended his announcement by thanking the fans for their unwavering support and added: “I cannot wait to make you proud on the court.”
