North Dakota’s Luke Silvernale pulled off a special teams miracle on Saturday, turning what looked like a disaster into a game-changing play against Iowa State.
With the Fighting Hawks down 14-3 and preparing to punt, Silvernale mishandled the snap, seemingly setting the stage for a costly mistake. But instead of panicking, the punter improvised with a quick-thinking, rugby-style kick, hoping to salvage the play.
Amazingly, the ball took a series of fortunate bounces, ending up in the perfect spot for a North Dakota player to down it at Iowa State’s two-yard line.
It was a jaw-dropping moment that turned a potential disaster into a massive special teams victory for the Fighting Hawks. Silvernale’s play showcased incredible composure and skill—something that can’t be taught in practice.
HOW DID HE MANAGE TO PULL THAT OFF!?!?!
