Over three years ago, Reese tweeted, “LEBRON WAS NO HELP,” after the Lakers suffered a playoff loss to the Phoenix Suns. The resurfacing of this tweet highlighted the contrast between Reese’s criticism and James’ support for Clark.
James isn’t the only NBA player to recognize Clark’s exceptional talent. Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic has also been effusive in his praise, going so far as to call Clark the “woman Steph Curry.” Doncic even claimed that Clark could “shoot it better than me,” a high compliment from one of the NBA’s premier marksmen. Steph Curry himself acknowledged the comparison but emphasized that Clark’s game is much more than just shooting. “I think it almost robs her of, like, the rest of her game because she’s such a good floor [general], you know, she has her overall floor game, she’s racking up close to triple-doubles every night,” Curry said.
Since the WNBA resumed play following the Olympic break, Clark and the Fever have been on a tear. The team has climbed to sixth in the standings and third in the Eastern Conference, with Clark playing a pivotal role.
