Collingwood have confirmed the signing of delisted St Kilda forward Tim Membrey to a two-year deal as a delisted free agent.

The Magpies announced the news on the opening day of three DFA windows, with Membrey joining his third club just weeks after leaving the Saints.

The 30-year-old is a three-time leading goalkicker at Moorabbin and booted 30 goals in 2024 to sit second on the Saints’ list for the metric this year.

Membrey kicked 293 goals from his 178 games in the red, white and black to narrowly finish outside the club’s top 10 for all-time goals.

He started his career with Sydney after being drafted in 2012, withMembrey playing one game at AFL level across his two seasons in NSW. He would return to Victoria after being delisted by the Swans, securing a move to St Kilda.

Membrey now joins the Magpies as they look to sharpen their attack from the 2025 season, with the veteran sharpshooter joining a forward unit consisting of Brody Mihocek, Dan McStay, Bobby Hill, Lachie Schultz and Beau McCreery.

“We are pleased to welcome Tim to Collingwood,” Collingwood Head of Football Strategy, Innovation and List Management Justin Leppitsch said in a club statement.

“We have been in discussion with Tim for some time and we have identified him as key talent for our list’s needs.

“Above his football ability, Tim is a quality individual and strong leader, which we know will complement our program.

“We welcome Tim, his wife Emily, and their children Wren and Beau to our Club, and we look forward to introducing them to our Collingwood family when we return for pre-season training come November.”

The arrival of Membrey sees the Magpies add their third player of the off-season, having secured Harry Perryman (GWS) and Daniel Houston (Port Adelaide) via free agency and the trade period respectively.

Collingwood have Picks 52, 55 and 58 for the 2024 National Draft, which will take place on November 20-21.
