Crawford spent the previous season as an assistant on the Phoenix Suns under Frank Vogel. He spent three prior seasons under Vogel with the Los Angeles Lakers and in between served a year as an assistant with the Dallas Mavericks.
Crawford got his professional coaching start with the Kings as a video coordinator.
The 33-year-old New Jersey native joined Arizona in 2011 as a walk-on transfer. He spent two seasons with the program.
The Stockton Kings finished first in their division last season with a 24-10 record. They advanced to the G League Conference Finals before falling to Oklahoma City.
Former Arizona standout Stanley Johnson spent part of the season with the team. He is now playing for a professional team in Turkey.
