Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever have been on an incredible run since the WNBA’s return from the Olympic break. Not only have they dominated the league during this period, but they also now boast a winning record for the first time in over five years.
The Fever continued their hot streak on Sunday, securing a 100-93 victory over Arike Ogunbowale and the Dallas Wings. This win marks their sixth in seven games, with Clark and Kelsey Mitchell leading the charge, scoring 28 and 36 points, respectively.
After the game, Clark and Mitchell participated in a postgame press conference where Clark was unexpectedly thrown a curveball by one of the reporters. The reporter asked one of the most unusual questions in recent memory:
“Caitlin, Caitlin, after giving the Razzmatazz to those Windy City skyscrapers Friday night, what was the biggest wingding game you expected to find today in the shindig against these dynamos from Big D?”
Clark was visibly perplexed by the bizarre phrasing of the question. She looked around the room, clearly searching for some guidance, but was left speechless, unable to respond. Ultimately, the players moved on to the next question, leaving Clark to ponder what exactly had just happened.

Despite the odd moment, the Fever’s performance on the court was anything but confusing. With the win, they improved to 17-16 on the season, and their playoff prospects are looking increasingly strong. If the season were to end today, the Fever would secure the sixth seed, setting up a first-round playoff matchup with the Minnesota Lynx.
Indiana will now have two days off before they return to action on Wednesday, September 4, in a game against Rickea Jackson and the Los Angeles Sparks. As the Fever continue their push toward the playoffs, Clark and her teammates are proving they’re a force to be reckoned with.
